KEITH Mayo is preparing to go three courses with the greatest boxer in history.

Keith, Walcot Boxing Club sponsor, has been invited to meet three-time World Heavyweight Champion Muhammad Ali at a dinner in his Louisville mansion.

It comes after he helped raise money for a good friend of Ali, ex-boxer Jimmy Ellis, who is now suffering from dementia.

Keith is jetting out to the USA this morning and will meet Ali tomorrow.

"It's absolutely unbelievable, I'm still having to pinch myself to understand it's actually happening," he said.

"I've met loads of boxing stars over the years but they don't come much bigger than Ali.

"We will be meeting the Mayor of Louisville and going to visit the shack where Ali was born, before going to his museum in the afternoon. Then in the evening we will be going to Ali's mansion for dinner.

"George Foreman, Ken Norton and Ali's daughter, Laila, who is also a boxer, will also be there.

"But it will still be a fairly intimate thing, with less than 25 people there."

Keith admits he is bound to be tongue-tied around such an iconic figure, but plans to ask him about his two fights with English southpaw Henry Cooper.

In case he gets stuck for a topic he is taking along a unique piece of Ali memorabilia with him.

He said: "I have got the only replica of the World Heavyweight belt that he won as Cassius Clay in 1964.

"I'm going to try to get him to sign it but I'm not sure if he will."

Keith will not be forgetting his roots in such illustrious company. "I'm planning to take a copy of the Adver along and see if he'll pose with it," he said.
