COUNTY player Jack Hiscock won the top division on each of the two days of Marlborough's April medal, writes Ernie Newell.

The 18-year-old one-handicapper and ex-Wiltshire boys' champion hit a round of 73 for a nett 72 on the first day and blazed round in 69 for a nett 68 on day two.

Division Three (19-28): Ron Atcherley (23) nett 68, I Brian Fox (18) nett 73, Steve Richardson (19) nett 74 (Saturday); Peter O'Toole (19) nett 70, Steve Richardson (19) nett 71, Michael Condon (19) nett 71 (Sunday).

Juniors took the honours in Broome Manor's April medal.

Junior captain Neil Puffett won the first division with nett 70 playing off six handicap.

He finished one in front of junior Ashley Hunt (11) and club captain Kevin Phillips (+1), who continued his par-breaking form with a gross 70. Another junior, Lorcan Cole (10), was fourth with 72.

Yet another junior, Ben Karn (13), won Division Two (13-19) with the best of the day round of nett 67. Jonathan Haines (14) was second with 69 and Tong Lu (14) third on 70.

Kenneth Roberts (22) won Division Three (20-28) with nett 69, three ahead of Nick Stanley (20).

Broome Manor's mixed foursomes stableford was won by Tong Lu and Rhyan Zhao with 39 points.

Club treasurer Jerry May and women's champion Theresa Healy were second with 38.

Ollie Coulson was a two point winner of North Wilts juniors' April stableford with 42 points.

On 40 were Jack Charman and Charlie Godwin.

Home players Jessica Illes won North Wilts girls' open with 39 stableford points.

Jemima Greeson (Knowle) was second with 37 and Samantha Masters (Broome Manor) third with 36.

At Carswell, 14-handicap John Bulson and Keith Curtis (25) handed in the best score of four under par 68 and Peter Clements (4) the best gross of 79 in the April medal.
