The Magic Roundabout's infamous Christmas tree has returned - over a month late.

The decoration had plenty of people talking in years gone by as someone braved the dangerous crossing across the junction to make the iconic landmark a little more festive.

But in 2022, the locals were disappointed as the tree never found its way to the centre of the Magic Roundabout.

Locals were left confused this week when, in early February, a rather depressing looking plastic tree appeared in the central island, and had fallen off its plinth.

It is not clear how it got to the centre of one of the country's most-feared junctions, or if it will be removed.

The Magic Roundabout has frustrated Wiltshire drivers as well as those visiting Swindon since its inception in 1972.

A ring junction which consists of five mini-roundabouts arranged in a circle, the infamous road feature has caused many an issue for motorists over the years.

In 2009, it was voted as the fourth-scariest junction in Britain, only being topped by London’s Marble Arch, the M8 junctions through central Glasgow, and Gravelly Hill, AKA ‘Spaghetti Junction’, in Birmingham.
