Listen very carefully, I shall say this only once. The show will start on the vintage bus ferrying the audience to the Malford Players' next production.

The amateur dramatics group, which has been entertaining people for the past 40 years, is getting ready to perform the stage version of the 1980s hit TV sitcom Allo Allo.

And to make it a special occasion it's going to send a vintage bus to pick up members of the audience from surrounding villages and lay on dinner at the village pub.

One of the members, Steve Hunt, said: "The Players intend to make this experience great fun for those attending with the appearance of some surprise characters, decorations and audio on the bus.

"We hope that this will prove to be a long lasting community service for, not only this current production, but also for future productions."

The bus route starts in the Village at the Wiltshire Golf Club near Royal Wootton Bassett and on via pick up points at the Three Crowns in Brinkworth, the Somerford Arms in Little Somerford, The Volunteer in Great Somerford, The New Inn at Upper Seagry and the Wellesley in Sutton Benger before arriving in Christian Malford.

The £41.55 package includes return tickets, admission to the show and a two-course pre-show meal at the Rising Sun in Christian Malford.

Doors open for the performances in the village hall at Christian Malford at 7pm on May 19 and 20, when host Rene, his long-suffering wife Edith, Yvette and the other regulars at the wartime Cafe Rene will offer a warm welcome.
