A giant rabbit costume with a huge price tag, a Versace table going for a relative song and a 170-year-old London safe are among the bizarre items up for sale in Swindon this week.

Facebook Marketplace offers users of the popular social media platform the chance to buy and sell items within a chosen radius.

By segregating items on locality, users can then go to seller’s directly to collect their purchases rather than waiting in the post from national or international listers.

Exchanges take place all across the world and Swindon is no exception.

Among the phones, car parts and furniture, every so often the more acquired taste comes into play.

With that in mind, the Adver has compiled a list of the most weird and wonderful things we found on Facebook Marketplace in the Swindon area this week.

Giant rabbit costume

One of the more eye-catching listings this week, an adult’s rabbit costume is arguably the most unique.

The costume creates a visual illusion whereby it appears that the wearer is being carried by a giant rabbit.

It is described as being both “discontinued” and in “amazing condition” by the seller.

Although the costume could be conceived as humorous, the price of the item is no laughing mater with a cool £1,850.

Large giraffe toy

The condition of the giraffe is described as being “used” but “good” but the seller also makes note of one of the back legs being bent.

As a result of this, the giraffe “needs a wiggle to stand up but once in position he stays” which will make the animal a friendly companion to children in Swindon.

The price of the item is a more modest £20, coming in far cheaper than our previous entry.

Draco Malfoy face blanket and cushion

Harry Potter is a popular film franchise with fans all over the world enjoying the adventures of the boy wizard.

But if you are a superfan of one character in particular, Harry’s rival Draco Malfoy, and you are based in Swindon, you may be in luck.

A giant bed throw blanket with a photograph of Malfoy’s face, portrayed by Tom Felton, is listed on the Facebook Marketplace and an accompanying cushion with several pictures of the character is also included.

Condition of the items is “used” and “good” with the transaction being collection only.

This package deal, along with an owl cushion, comes in at the combined price of £22, making it a bargain for Swindon Slytherins.

Vintage 1850s London safe

If you are looking for a secure location to stash all of your Tom Felton merchandise, then look no further than this industrial safe from the 1850s.

In a “used” and “fair” condition, the London-made safe has a corrosive hole on the outer shell from where it was stored against an external cellar wall.

The seller advises that once restored, the safe would make for an “amazing talking piece” in one’s home.

Priced at £245, the safe provides a relatively affordable passage into history and a secure safety option for possessions.

Versace table

After a long day in your rabbit costume stashing your Draco Malfoy photos away in your vintage safe, perhaps a well earned meal is in order and where better to eat it at than a desginer table.

Yet as you could guess from reading this far, no ordinary furniture would make it into this list.

For that reason, we have chosen a vibrant Versace set of six chairs and an accompanying table.

The condition of the art deco table, which features the Versace logo and emblem throughout, is described being “new”.

Priced at £199, the set could bring a sense of style and fashion to a Swindon kitchen or dining room.
