The organisers of a new Swindon music festival are raring to go ahead of its inaugural edition this weekend.

Rachael Chun from Covingham and friend Katie Brown founded the accessible events group Embrace All in the town back in February.

The pair help people with disabilities in Swindon and the surrounding areas by hosting specialist events.

Now Embrace All will go a step further and host its maiden music festival at the Town Gardens in Old Town.

“We had the idea for a music festival quite early on and started speaking about it in February after starting the group,” said Rachael.

“This is our first time organising anything like this and it’s not been easy but now we can’t wait.”

The 28-year-old and her friend began by hosting weekly discos aimed for people with disabilities in the area.

“We moved onto organising events at Tree Nightclub with the lighting and sounds adjusted and a temporary ramp installed,” added Rachael.

“The money raised went towards funding the festival as we want people with disabilities to access the same social opportunities as we can.

“We’ve put so much into this and we can’t wait to see how it turns out.”

The event will run on Saturday from 12pm until 9pm at The Bowl, Town Gardens, and tickets can be bought here.
