A gin and rum festival is returning to Swindon after several years away.

Attendees to the event at STEAM will be able to try a large range of gin and rums from both local and international distillers.

The event is being held at the STEAM museum on Saturday, April 13.

It will be made up of two separate sessions, one from 12.30pm to 5pm and the second from 6.30pm until 10.30pm

Those buying tickets will be able to attend both sessions. Tickets start at £17.85 and are available on Skiddle.

Along with entrance to the festival, ticket holders will receive a collectable stainless-steel tumbler, a branded carry satchel, a free drink, a reusable stainless steel straw and a snack.

Those wishing to re-enter will be required to be in possession of the items that they are given so that they can use the tumbler to sample different drinks.

The festival first came to Swindon in 2018 and again in 2019 but has not returned to the town for the past four years due to Covid-19.

As well as being able to try a range of drinks, there will also be a DJ, live band and dance floor being arranged for the event.

The Gin and Rum Festival business has grown and expanded massively since it first came to Swindon.

Donna Brady, event director, explained how excited the organisers are to come back to Swindon as it holds a special place in their heart due to it being one of the first locations they started held one of their events at,

Swindon STEAM was chosen due to its location and travel links as well as how good of a venue the museum is.

Donna said: “We haven’t been back since so we are so excited about this.

“It is a fantastic venue for Swindon.

“Swindon is actually quite a special one to me, we started here years ago.

“How far we have come as a business is fantastic.

“It is a real social event, we do really encourage people to get their dancing shoes on.

“We did 28 festivals in that year and Swindon was one of those we wanted to touch base with.”
