A food festival will be returning to Swindon for its sixth year this summer.

The Cheese and Chilli Festival will be staged in Lydiard Park on the July 6 and 7, featuring spicy eating competitions, live food demonstrations and music.

It follows a successful year in 2023, when hot weather added to the event’s heat, with temperatures reaching up to 29C.

The highlight could be the chilli eating competition, eating progressively hotter fruits with the last being more than two thousand times hotter than is normally tolerable.

There will also be the chance to taste a range of hot sauces and vote on the best, all while watching live wrestling.

Event organiser Simon Stewart said: "We are thrilled to bring back the Cheese and Chilli Festival to Lydiard Park in Swindon for another unforgettable year.

"With an exciting line-up of culinary delights, live entertainment, and family-friendly activities, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Get ready to spice up your summer and join us for a weekend of food, fun, and fiery flavour!”.

Early bird day tickets for the event cost £8, while concessions for over 65s are available and children go free.
