Swindon’s model railway exhibition returned to the STEAM museum over the weekend, with scores of model train enthusiasts attending.
The museum in Swindon came to life with miniature trains and railway lines that swept across the Great Western Hall like a toy shop come to life.
The event, held on Saturday, March 2 from 10am to 4.30pm featured over 16 different layouts and many different traders and demonstrators representing British and Continental railways.
Many of the miniature lines were also complete with realistic Wiltshire backdrops from across the county which brought the whole thing to life.
As well as demonstrations, visitors enjoyed stalls including the Hornby Dublo ‘drive it yourself’ which was particularly popular with the younger train enthusiasts and those wanting to relive their childhoods,
Model clubs from across the country also welcomed visitors old and young to their stalls.
The day was the first of one of STEAM’s many exciting events coming up this spring, with attractions such as ‘Meet the Railway Workers’ and the '2024 Gin and Rum Festival' still to come.
