Emergency services rushed to a busy Swindon road after a car smashed into a set of traffic lights.

A white Mini Cooper crashed into the traffic lights at a crossing on Queens Drive shortly before 11pm on Tuesday, March 26.

The driver is not thought to have sustained any serious injuries during the incident.

Police say no other vehicles were involved.

Both police units and fire crews were called to the scene to resolve the situation.

Firefighters were pictured at the scene ahead of the recovery of the car, which was removed around 90 minutes after the crash.

One crew was dispatched from Swindon Fire Station to make the scene safe.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We attended a single vehicle collision on Queens Drive at 10.45pm last night (March 26) after a Mini Cooper collided with traffic lights.

“The driver is not believed to have been seriously injured and the vehicle was recovered by 12.15am.”
