One of Trowbridge’s most historic Georgian townhouses has been voted as the best event venue in Wiltshire.

Parade House, in Fore Street, has won its category for Wiltshire in this year’s Muddy Stiletto Awards.

It was up against Hatch House in Tisbury, Rye Hill Barn in Warminster, Wellington Barn in Calne and The View in Westbury.

Simon and Carey Tesler, who own the townhouse, said: “We are delighted to announce that Parade House has just been voted the Best Event Venue in Wiltshire in the Muddy Stilettos Awards 2024.

“This is another proud moment for our wonderful team, coming hot on the heels of the Federation of Small Businesses Awards just two months ago in March, when Parade House was awarded the prestigious title of FSB Best Start-Up Business in the South West 2024.

“We are truly honoured to have received this award which is also another win for Trowbridge, county town of Wiltshire.”

The latest award marks a hat-trick for Parade House, the proud recipient of The Trowbridge Town Enhancement Award 2023 presented by the Trowbridge Mayor, Graham Hill last year.

The couple bought and rescued the near derelict Georgian townhouse almost two years ago to save it from being turned into a house of multiple occupation with 11 bedsits.

The property has a grand staircase, a ballroom and is used to host receptions, weddings, open days and dining.

It is also used as a location for television filming, cream teas, conferences, performances, themed bar events, exhibitions and regular weekly screenings of classic and independent films in its 24-seat cinema.

Muddy Stiletto selected 105 finalists from across Wiltshire and Swindon with five nominated in each of the 21 categories.

The culture, lifestyle and travel company urged people to vote for their favourite by the closing deadline on Thursday, April 18.
