Caroline Flint the housing minister thinks it would be a good idea to turf out wasters from their council houses if they don’t get a job. What a cracker! That’s right Caroline it won’t cost more to put them up elsewhere will it? Because even homeless wasters are still within your remit and you will have to put them up somewhere. Where do you think? A dingy B&B, where you will gladly foot the inflated bill?

Is it just me, or does anyone else see this as useless political bluster, from a labour minister, once the caring party of the working classes. I suppose she thinks if she sounds a bit like an old style Tory it might gain her a few votes come an election.

I’m not supporting anyone who won’t work, but there are better ways to get people into work than contracts to say you will look for/get a job or no house for you. By the way isn’t the term ‘social housing’ annoying? What’s wrong with 'council house', that’s what they once were and damn proud we were of them.

Why not try not making it not worthwhile to work, by giving the great unwashed less free stuff and benefits for doing nothing and increasing the minimum wage so they might go out to work? Or give them food vouchers and no cash for fags or baseball caps. That will get them out looking to earn. At the end of the day, call it social housing if you like, but whether you like doleites or not, they have to live somewhere.

You can’t 'put em on the street' Caroline, it will cost more than it does to keep them where they are and what’s more it will make the place look untidy.

Anyway, with the amount of eastern Europeans there are working in this country, I had no idea we could still have anyone without a job.

Look here. Its true. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7227667.stm
