When coming home in the evenings
From the winter’s chills and bitter freeze,
A flickering warm fire, will touch your heart
Putting your mind and soul at ease.
When you hear the sound of laughter
When your children smile
And have magical cheeky grins,
Feel the love all around you
Like when you hear the birds sing.
When you smell fresh bread
Baking in the kitchen
Your washing drying on
An old wooden clothes horse,
A beautiful mum thinking,
Must put family needs in order
Always putting them first.
When it’s time to draw the curtains
Nearly at the end of the day,
You all climb the stairs together
Sleepy time now, time to dream away.
Think how lucky you are
A perfect home for you to stay
