PLAYTIME is much more fun at a Swindon pre-school group.
Lawn Pre-school has a new playhouse, thanks to a £376 grant from the Midcounties Co-operative.
Some 80 children aged three to four attend the pre-school which is based in the grounds of the Lawn Primary School, Cleeve Lawns.
Jayne De Maio, assistant supervisor, said: “We have set up the playhouse in the outdoor play area and the children love it, it’s a really popular place to be.
“We’re grateful to Midcounties for its support which enabled us to extend our range of play facilities.”
Lawn pre-school was started as a playgroup by local mums more than 30 years ago and has developed over time. It moved into its present base, a former school reception area, two years ago.
Barbara Dunne, community co-ordinator at Midcounties, said: “As a member-owned co-operative we give a significant percentage of our annual profits back to the communities we serve.
“We are delighted that the playhouse is a big success with the children.”
