LABOUR MP Anne Snelgrove has welcomed news that 58 per cent more youngsters in Swindon are going to university now, than in 1997.
“The figures show that young people in Swindon are taking advantage of the increases in opportunities that have been made available to them since 1997,” she said.
“Nationally student numbers are up by 25 per cent. But here in Swindon they are up by nearly 60 per cent.
“This is a credit to the young people of our town and reflects the Government’s commitment.”
