WHEN Elvis fans Sean and Alison Martin found out they were expecting the pitter patter of tiny blue suede shoes they decided no ordinary name would do.

The couple from Rodbourne welcomed Duke Presley into the fold on March 5 as Don’t Cry, Daddy played in the delivery suite.

But little Duke was not first in line for a name inspired by the king of rock’n’roll.

They began the Presley- themed naming with big brother Jack Elvis, now two.

“We wanted to give them a middle name that was a bit different,” said proud dad Sean, 31.

“Although we decided it should be middle names because we wouldn’t want them to be teased at school.

“We liked Duke and Jack because they are good strong traditional names.”

It is no secret that the Martins love a bit of Elvis.

Sean sang the Wonder Of You to his bride at their engagement party, wedding and honeymoon.

“I was either that or Suspicious Minds,” he said. “But The Wonder of You has always been our song.”

But while they may be steadfast loyal and true to their idol, who died in 1977, they’re far from fanatical.

And if a little sister for the boys comes along, there are no plans to call her Susie Q or any other Elvis inspired names.

“If we have another little boy we’ll continue the tradition,” said mum Alison.

“We’ll probably call him Aaron which was Elvis’ middle name but we wouldn’t call a girl Priscilla or anything.

“We don’t have hoards of memorabilia or believe any of the conspiracy theories that he is still alive or anything.

“We’re just fans of the music because we have grown up with it.”

Every effort has been made however to ensure the boys grow up enjoying Elvis as much as their parents with The King’s music playing in their room.

“It’s raised a few smiles,” said Alison, “but the names really show their characters.”
