A CHART-topping Swindon band is verging on the big time with its new single – Walk on Woman.

The Boy Done Good have been sitting at the top of TV presenter Graham Norton’s Noostar online talent show charts for the last two weeks – and hope to make it into the big time.

The band, formed in 2007, are already being recognised around Swindon and have gained a whole new army of ‘friends’, many of them female, including 2,500 on Myspace.

Their video is also getting thousands of hits online.

But the band, including Stephen Wray, 16, from Bishopstone, Richard Fleming, 18, from Wroughton, Louis Armstrong, 16, from Cirencester, and James Heffer, 16, from Bath, are getting really excited about having their single played on Radio 1.

“Our single drops on June 29,” said Louis, the band’s lead singer.

“Things have changed loads since we first got together as mates just playing music, after we started playing all Swindon’s local spots we got noticed by a few people who helped us musically and allowed our stuff to get out there.

“Now we have even been recognised in Swindon a few times and it feels pretty good. One of the weirdest things is definitely seeing ourselves on television and hearing our voices on the radio.

“And, to answer your question, we are all single.”

Meanwhile, Stephen said he is having to choose between school and his beloved band.

The drummer said: “As things get more and more serious we are all getting really excited, it is going to have to be a big decision whether to focus all my attention on the band or on school because I am not sure how long both of them can carry on together.“ And guitarist James said: “In terms of our success I am just really sitting back and watching it all unfold, at this point really anything could happen, it is exciting.

“We are practicing once a week and in my spare time I am working on my guitar I am looking forward to the In New Music We Trust Stage at the big weekend.”

Big Weekend acts the lads are looking forward to seeing include Dizzee Rascal, King Blues and Calvin Harris.

The band’s single is released on June 29 and a small UK tour will begins on May 20.

They are playing at Commonweal School on July 15 and will be launching their single on July 2 at 12Bar, Westcott Place.

A launch party will also be held in London on June 23 with Lucy Pinder, Jodie Marsh and Michelle Marsh all attending.
