AN application to demolish a Wroughton building to make way for a care home has been rejected.
The application to knock down Dannah House, in Bakers Road, was rejected at a Swindon Council planning committee meeting. Despite a plea by ward councillor William Morton that the building was an eyesore, the planning committee found the planned two-and-a-half storey development would not preserve or enhance the conservation area.
Fellow ward councillor Eric Shaw spoke against the application.
