FOOTBALLERS at Swindon Town will be asking residents to put the kettle on to help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support at their match on Tuesday.

The charity wants people to take part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in September.

Macmillan will be launching the event with a novelty penalty competition at the Swindon Town versus West Bromwich Albion game on Tuesday. Swindon Town players will be trying to score goals against Mac Mug, the Macmillan Coffee Morning mascot, during their pre-match warm-up.

Last year there were 200 Macmillan coffee mornings across Swindon raising £21,000.

This year the charity needs residents to raise £25,000 to help fund its vital cancer services, from specialist nurses and doctors, to grants and advice for people with cancer who have financial problems.

To register to host a coffee morning visit www.macmillan.org.uk/coffee or call 0845 602 1246.

Macmillan volunteers will be handing out registration leaflets coffee sachets and information at the match.
