A TEACHER famed for going above and beyond her duties has stepped down after 24 years at the same school.

Pauline Baker has taught every year group at Eastrop Infants School in Highworth but has been focusing on Year 2 for the last decade.

The 59-year-old teacher is famed for organising annual trips to Legoland in Windsor.

Headteacher Sue Marshall said: “Pauline is a very warm and enthusiastic teacher.

“She has always remained committed to providing the best possible education for the children.

“And she has always been prepared to put in extra work and not just teaching.

“She always provided children with an exciting range of experiences.”

Mrs Baker was also involved in children’s rehearsals for music festivals.

Mrs Marshall said she will be badly missed.

“The children are very fond of her and we will miss her very much,” she said, “She is friend to everyone and is also very even-tempered.”
