TICKETS are on the verge of selling out for the second Swindon Invincible event.

Up to 1,200 people are expected to attend the dance event at the Old Town Bowl on Saturday.

Organisers claim up to 70 people a day are booking their place at the show, which will see the bowl filled with the sounds of trip-hop, dubstep and Star Wars.

Steve Causer, co-organiser of the one-day festival and co-owner of the Swin City comic shop in Morley Street, said people from as far away as Manchester would travel to Swindon to watch the event’s headline act DJ Yoda.

He said the DJ would present an audio visual display on a 5m by 4m screen in addition to playing music.

Mr Causer said: “This will bring world-class DJs and live acts in to play alongside local talent. We are on the verge of selling out.

“Last year was something that hadn’t been seen before in Swindon. The whole bowl was lifted as all the acts were playing.”

Other acts lined up for Swindon Invincible, which begins at 3pm and runs into the night, include trip-hop act Lighterthief, beatbox group Duke, DJ Adam Freeland and DJ Cybernetic.

Mr Causer stressed the celebration would be a family event, and said face painting stalls would be provided as well as Jamaican jerk chicken and a barbecue.

He added: “The sun is going to shine and everyone is really going to enjoy themselves. The vibe will just keep upping with every single act.

“There will be some very interesting things thrown in.”
