ABBEY MEADS SUNDAY

PENHILL FC boosted their hopes of survival in the Swindon Abbey Meads Sunday 6-a-side Leisure Leagues Premier Division, as they romped home to a 9-1 rout of Leave MYA this week.

But the big top of the table clash was the big story of the day as Valley FC moved two points clear at the top, cruising through to a crushing 5-1 victory over rivals Total 90, although three games of the current season still remain.

The top two sides also met in Division One and a ding dong affair ensued, but the 3-3 draw between Sevenfields and God With An Extra ‘O’ benefits the latter side more, as their five point lead at the top was maintained. Adam Croshend claimed the star man gong for the second-placed side.

Old’em Pathetic’s promotion hopes are still hanging by a thread despite their 12-6 drubbing of Deportivo Laka Talent, thanks to the form of Chris Cummings, but they were aided in their quest by Red Star, who saw off their rivals Staples For Goalposts 7-2 in a one-sided affair.

ST JOSEPH’S SUNDAY

Gorse Hill Blues moved a point clear at the top of the St Joseph’s Sunday 6 a-side league, as they raced to a 6-1 dismissal of Boca Seniors.

FC Whitered are two points shy of the top spot in fifth after their hard-fought 3-2 victory over The Messenger, who are a place below in sixth, and BooYa shared an entertaining 2-2 draw with Wilts Ham United, as both sides are tied on ten points in second and third spot respectively.

Swindon’s Finest joined the top four with their narrow 1-0 win over Parkz Co.
