A FUNDRAISING event for youth projects at the Wyvern Theatre is hoping to raise much needed cash.

The Wyvern Theatre Foundation will hold an antiques fair on November 8 and a race night on November 28.

June Weller, fundraiser for the foundation and antique show organiser, said: “This will be the third annual event and will be on remembrance Sunday.

“It’s interesting because it will be held in the Wyvern auditorium and you don’t usually get it in the theatre itself.

“The punters will really enjoy it because we don’t have many antique shows in the town anymore and we have stalls coming all the way from Devon and Wales.

“For the first time we will also have craft stalls at the entrance and on the foyer.

“We will also have an auctioneer.”

Up to 50 stalls with small furniture, postcards, silver, collectable jewellery and many more interesting items will be on show.

The foundation, which was established last year, aims to raise money for youth projects at the Wyvern such as this summer's production of Boogie Nights.

The race night will also take place at the theatre.

Admission will be by donation.
