SMOKERS who kick the habit in the lead-up to Christmas could save themselves more than £300 by the big day.
That is the message from NHS Swindon as it launches a fresh bid to help the town’s smokers quit.
“November is also Lung Cancer Awareness month and as 88 per cent of all lung cancers are attributable to smoking, this is a fitting month to quit,” said Cherry Jones, Assistant Director of Public Health for NHS Swindon.
Lung cancer is the UK’s biggest cancer killer, claiming the lives of more than 33,500 people in the UK every year.
