A STRAND of Elvis Presley’s hair raised £1,055 at a Wiltshire auction on Saturday.

The celebrity lock had been expected to fetch up to £250 at auction at Henry Aldridge and Sons in Devizes.

It belonged to Thomas B Morgan Jnr, who was given the strand by Presley’s barber in 2002.

The hair, which comes with a certificate of authenticity, is mounted in a frame alongside a photograph of Elvis, pictured.

In November 2002, a strand of Elvis's hair sold for 115,000 US dollars (about £70,000) in an internet auction.
