A MAN accused of stealing a dead dog’s ashes in one of seven burglaries across Swindon is to face trial by jury.
As well as the ashes, Lukwan Spencer is said to have taken an assortment of items in the raids including a crossbow, electrical items, cash and jewellery.
When the 21-year-old, of St Mary’s Grove, Ferndale, appeared at Swindon Crown Court last week he denied seven counts of burglary.
He is accused of carrying out burglaries between March and July in Blunsdon, Stanton Fitzwarren, Upper Stratton, Hyde Road and Chiseldon.
Judge Jamie Tabor QC remanded Spencer in custody until Tuesday, December 15 when he is set to stand trial on the seven charges.
