A CHILDREN’S charity was targeted again by yobs for the fifth consecutive weekend.

Staff from the Wroughton Youth Adventure charity chased off yobs who threatened to cause more vandalism at the Legge House Conference Centre on Saturday night.

One man was goading staff to come and get him from the centre’s car park off Church Hill in Wroughton, manager Chris Offord said. CCTV captured the events unfold at around 11pm, which was later passed onto the police. Officers arrived after staff reported the matter but the gang had ran off.

Previously windows have been smashed, damage was caused to parked cars and yobs also forced their way inside the children’s charity, which cares for vulnerable youngsters.

On one occasion the yobs stole the children’s shoes and threw them onto the graveyard at St John the Baptist and St Helen Church, the charity has claimed.

Mr Offord said: “They were at the centre again on Saturday. We think there was about 10 of them.

“They didn’t cause any damage this time, but one was goading staff and looking up at the CCTV and another urinated in the car park.

“They ran off before the police arrived.”

The charity offers respite care for up to 36 vulnerable children, aged 11 to 19, during activity-filled weekends.
