On Tuesday, a group of students from Isambard and Nova Hreod went to join fellow students at Greendown in a book debate called "Spread the Word". They had all read four pre-selected novels and got together to discuss their thoughts and to vote for their favourite.

Anna Jones from Isambard wrote: I thought Spread the Word was really good. Everybody contributed to the debate and there were varied opinions on each book. In my group we reviewed 'The Roar' by Emma Clayton. Some people found it hard to get into and others thought it was easy to get into. There were also different opinions about the strength of the characters. In the general debate at the end, many people said Patrick Ness' ' The knife of never letting go' was the best book out of the four. 'Possessing Raine' by Kate Cann was my personal favourite as I enjoyed it from the beginning. (I was lucky enough to work with Kate the following day when she visited my school). Spread the word was a fab experience and it was good finding out what other students thought of the books.
