CHILDREN in Wootton Bassett have been learning how to make curry.
Youngsters from Wootton Bassett Infants School visited The Ganges restaurant in High Street on Monday for a crash course in Indian cuisine.
The 21-strong group of four year olds were greeted at the door by restaurant owner Enam Chowdhury before being shown how to set a table.
The Ganges kitchen staff then demonstrated how to make chicken korma and naan bread before the young pupils were given the chance to try the food for themselves.
Mr Chowdhury said: “It is always refreshing to see young people eager to learn about other cultures.
“The children were very enthusiastic about the whole experience and seemed to enjoy the food a lot.
The visit was part of the infant school’s term project on Indian culture.
The youngsters will return in the New Year to master curry making skills themselves.
“India has a very rich culture,” said Mr Chowdhury.
“The food has many different flavours, so it is lovely to see young people trying it out for the first time and sharing their experiences with their friends.”
