Film: Miracle On 34th Street

This movie was originally made in 1947, and remade in 1994. It was directed by Les Mayfield. This magical movie is about a ‘Santa’ who comes to earth to watch over the children of the world. He ends up being employed as a Santa in the famous department store Coles. Another company who is a rival to Coles try to put Santa out of a job, and succeeds for a short while; we like to know how Santa gets out of jail, and who everything turns out to be like in the end. It is a typical Christmas story that’s gets everyone in the festive mood. It is a mix of romance and is fun for all the family to watch and relax.

The main actor in this film is Richard Attenborough who plays Kris Kringle. I think the people who are in charge of which characters to choose, chose the right choice. He looks like a Santa and children watching would automatically believe that he was Saint Nick, which supports the moral of the story (always believe what you want). The way Richard suited the character was perfect. His role easily links in to the target audience of this movie.

The readership of this Christmas classic is based on mostly children but wanting to make a family come together and enjoy what is given to them. The directors and producers wanted to achieve of making us feel joyful and pleased with this film.

The music involved with this film sets the mood and is easy to predict what might happen next. For example, the music becomes slow and romantic and there is a male and female actor, this type of scene is predictable but is still loved by many.
