Film: Twilight
Twilight, originally a book written by Stephanie Meyer, was recently developed into a movie and released in 2008. Based for a teenage audience, it is a combination of different genres like romance and fantasy, and is incredibly suspenseful at times. The movie has a very vivid setting with beautiful landscapes which adds to the suspension. Also, dramatic music is often used aswell as special effects.
The plotline covers the life of Bella Swan, a 17 year old girl who moves from Arizona to a small town in Washington to live with her dad. Bella joins a new high school, where she meets the Edward Cullen. Edward instantly seems cold to Bella but it is later found out Edward is a vampire disguised in the form of a 17 year old boy. Problems arrive as Edward tries to stay away from Bella and this idea is shown throughout the majority of the film.
Overall, Twilight is an exhilarating movie. There is a variation of amazing actors, and many viewers will be glued to their seats wondering what will happen next. However, the vampire-like genre has now become very popular, which makes this movie less original then it could have been.
Out of 10 I give Twilight a good 8. Although the movie is somewhat slow at parts, this is an excellent film and I recommend it to anyone.
