Film: The Greatest Store In The World

What a film! This heart-warming, full of Christmas spirit film is one which will get you feeling excited for Christmas.

This film made me smile, laugh, cry and will stay my favourite for the rest of my life. Starring Dervla Kirwan, Sean Hughes, Ricky Tomlinson, Brian Blessed and many more fantastic actors, this film will ensure you of realising what Christmas is about and to value your family.

Pat McCurry starts this inventive story by introducing a poor, young family, at Christmas time, living rough in the back of a van. However when the mother’s (Dervla Kirwan), and her two young daughters’ – Livvy (Elizabeth Earl) and Angeline (Holly Earl) – mobile home blows up, they are yet again homeless.

Desperately seeking a warm and safe home for her children ‘Mum’ resolves in hiding herself and her children in a Department Store.

However, life isn’t so jolly as they’d hope, seeing as they are living with high quality yet free beds, food and clothes. Santa (Ricky Tomlinson) and his Elf (Sean Hughes) are not as friendly as they seem! Expensive jewels are locked safely in the Department Store, or so is thought!

Santa and Elf rob these jewels, but, also have kidnapped the young, innocent Angeline.

Beautiful sets, and some lovely festive music captured my attention and I was enticed for over an hour!

I would definitely recommend this film, especially as you don’t know the ending yet!

Also, a special appearance from a ‘top secret’ famous band!
