Film: Raiders Of The Lost Ark

When I saw this film I didn’t quite know what to expect. I found it full of action and with a simple plot, though this does not mean that it was a bad film. There was never a point in the film where something important to the plot wasn’t happening.

This action packed thriller, set in 1936, is about one mans search for the Ark of the Covenant. On the way he has to face challenges and beat the Nazi’s to the Ark, who also want it to make there army invincible. He also has to save Marion Ravenwood, the daughter of his dead mentor Abner Ravenwood, after she is captured for information on the headpiece of the Staff of Ra, an object which shows the way to the Ark. This was the romance of this film, though I did find it unnecessary. It did not move the plot on at all and was also missing in some scenes where it could have been used. It was also left quite open; making it easy to go into more detail on this in a future film

It was packed with action, adventure and even the occasional piece of comedy, though, at times, the plot was hard to follow. If you missed one key line you would miss a major part of the film. The action was also a bit to none stop; it went from one action scene to another with very few breaks. This made it feel a little bit repetitive, but when something was different, it was very cleaver and very would always get the desired effect, be that laughter or shock.

I would recommend watching this film because it was a good film. Although it you could miss parts quite easily and it was non-stop, once you started to get into it was very hard to take your eyes off of it, with some very cleaver action and some very interesting comedy.
