Film: Raiders Of The Lost Ark

When I think of Indiana Jones, I think whip-cracking, pencil-snapping action. You all know the scene: Swash-buckling Harrison Ford with his trusty whip haphazardly running in to danger in the search of historical artefacts. This first instalment is set to become a classic in time but until then is one of the best films to grace the silver screen.

This film is brilliantly set up by John William’s soundtrack – who also wrote the Harry Potter and Star Wars soundtrack – which perfectly creates the scene in the movie. While this film is very entertaining and has some breath-taking stunts and action sequences straight from the off, it can lack somewhat in story bulk. This can be a blessing in that its story is not weighed down with things that do not add anything to the plotline. All this means that you have a fast-paced story with exciting twists.

When you hear the people behind the movie it isn’t much of a surprise that the movie is such a hit. There is George Lucas producing who is very accomplished through his movies, Steven Spielberg directing who brought us other classics like ET and Jaws, and Harrison Ford who played Han Solo in Star Wars.

If you take the brilliant writing, directing, producing, composing and acting displayed here it means that Lucasfilms has created a story that will be watched over and over again for years to come across many countries of the world.
