IT will be off with the snappy suits and on with the overalls when a group of executives get down to earth in Toothill next month.

The businessmen and women will be spending two days at Toothill Farm, in Bodiam Drive, sprucing it up.

Swindon Council has handed over the site to its youth service, which holds youth group meetings there, and it is now in line for a £12,000 revamp The old farmhouse has about half an acre of grassland behind it and a barn, which is used by the Scouts.

Coun Nick Martin, lead member for resources, (Con, Shaw and Nine Elms), said: "We're putting £12,000 into fixing the building as it has slight cracks due to age.

"Mavis Read and one or two other local volunteers are running youth nights here and they contacted youth development charity Raleigh International and persuaded them to get about 10 executives from BP "They are coming to do a Groundforce-type job.

"They're going to rejuvenate a large area in front of the farmhouse and construct a large storage shed and improve the landscaping to enable some vegetable growth.

"It saves the community money and gives the executives a challenge to work together so we're very pleased this is happening."

The work is scheduled to begin on Monday, May 8.

It has been co-ordinated by Raleigh International, which runs expeditions for young people to developing countries.

Ian McLaughlin, a development consultant with Raleigh, paid a visit to the site yesterday.

He said: "We are working with one of our corporate clients to run a team-building event.

"They are coming in for two days as a community challenge.

"Toothill was chosen by the company from a list of potential projects from Wiltshire right through to Birmingham. It's going to be fantastic."
