ROBBIE Williams’ hairdresser hanged himself in the face of mounting debt, a recent bereavement and following a row with his long-term partner.

Aaron Vickers, 25, of Pulsar Road, Oakhurst, was found by a teenager on December 1 last year in woodland near the footpath connecting Cassini Drive and Garsington Drive, close to his home.

The former Hreod Parkway pupil, who worked for Knock-em-Dead hairdressers in the town centre, used to cut Williams’ hair and even lived for a brief period in a cabin at his Compton Bassett property.

An inquest at the Civic Offices heard that Aaron – who was said to suffer bulimia and had attempted an overdose twice in 2006 – had attended the funeral of a close friend who had been found hanged, the day before his own death.

Aaron’s partner, Paul Sinnett, of Lansdown Road, Old Town, had been with Aaron since he was 16 and they had even made plans for a civil ceremony later this year.

He said Aaron’s mood was changeable and particularly affected when he got into debt in late 2008, facing tax bills, bankruptcy and having to sell his property.

“There were times when he felt there wasn’t anything he could do about it,” said Paul.

“He’d become massively down as a result of that, which would ultimately cause Aaron and I to argue over the most stupid things. It just caused huge strain on our relationship.”

Both Aaron and sales assistant Paul took cocaine on the evening of November 30, but Paul said his partner was restless and could not sleep.

When Aaron said he was taking the dogs for a walk then returned and said he wanted to go out again, this resulted in an argument and Aaron left.

“He said, ‘I won’t be long’ – that was the last time I spoke to him,” said Paul.

Although Paul went to look for Aaron he gave up and concluded he had gone to his mother’s home, as he usually did when they had quarrelled.

Both went in search of him the next day and it was then they were told a body had been found.

Paul’s fears that it was Aaron were later confirmed by police.

A post-mortem examination carried out by Dr Lawrence John concluded that Aaron had died as a result of hanging.

Paul said: “I was so angry at him because I’d lost my mum and to think he could do that.

“I love him so much and I still do. My life will never be the same again.

“Aaron had a side to him which I guess I never knew really.

“He said on his last day he had a kind, but lonely heart.”

In a statement read out to the inquest, mother Susan Dodson said she was puzzled by what her son had done.

She said: “This is not in his character and is not something he would do. The only thing he worried about was lines on his face and losing his hair.”

Ian Singleton, assistant deputy coroner for Wiltshire and Swindon, recorded that Aaron had taken his own life.

He said: “I heard of the financial pressures Aaron was under and that there was some talk of bankruptcy and that he had lost his property. He was also affected by the death of his friend whose funeral he attended the day before he died.

“I am satisfied that he intended to take his own life.”
