FUNDRAISERS took to the hills and managed to raise more than £1,800 for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance.

A team of 40 people walked several miles during laps around Chelworth Fields Livery Yard in Cricklade on Bank Holiday Monday to raise cash for the charity.

Horse rider Kelly Morris said: “To horse riders the Wiltshire Air Ambulance is completely invaluable. One of the girls in the yard had an accident in February and they came out then and were brilliant. We were hoping to raise around £1,330 as that is how much the charity said it needs to fly the helicopter for one day.

“The fact we have already raised more and means it can stay up in the air for another 24-hours is great.”

The group is now hoping to have the grand total of cash raised ready to hand over to the charity in the next two weeks.
