SWINDON Local Involvement Network (Link) wants to know what Swindon and Shrivenham residents think about patient transport services.

The forum which represents the thoughts and feelings of patients and residents wants to hear from those that are eligible to use all modes of patient transport, not just ‘blue light’ ambulances.

For people who can travel by car, NHS Swindon – which has responsibility for planning and paying for most NHS services locally – is thinking about commissioning a local, volunteer-led transport service operated from Great Western Hospital volunteer services.

This would include patients who require dialysis which is provided by Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals at GWH.

For people who cannot travel by car, transport would be commissioned from Great Western Ambulance Service. The NHS sets out who can get patient transport and these rules would continue to be applied.

Link wants to hear what people think about the current patient transport service and ideas for the future.
