POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a schoolgirl was sexually assaulted on a bus.

The incident happened on June 23, shortly after the 14-year-old boarded the number 2 bus near Dorcan Technology College. At the bus stop near The Bulldog pub, in Queens Drive, a man got onto the bus and sat next to her. He leant across the girl and pushed his elbow into her right breast.

As the teenager tried to leave the bus in the town centre, the man pushed her back into the seat and ran the palm of his hand over her breast and. He then alighted the bus and walked under the subway into The Parade.

The man is dark skinned, possibly of Asian appearance, taller than 5’6”, aged in his late 30s or early 40s, of medium build, with short black hair in a comb over style, and receding into an ‘m’ shape. He had brown eyes and an unusually shaped nose. He was wearing a white, orange and blue striped round neck short sleeved T shirt, black jeans, and black untidy shoes.

PC Julie Box, of Swindon Police, is keen to hear from passengers on the bus or anyone able to identify the man from the description. Call her on 0845 408 7000 ext 760868, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
