Dom Cobb (Leonardo Di Caprio) is a thief. The best in the business. However, he does not steal money or valuables; he steals ideas, secrets. Cobb steals thoughts from deep within the subconscious, during the dream state.

His trade has caused him great loss, but he is given a chance of redemption. His task is to achieve the impossible with his team of specialists – ‘inception’. This is the concept of planting an idea into someone’s head, the exact opposite of his thieving ways. The road is dangerous for everyone, especially with Cobb’s past haunting him through the dreams.

The film itself is excellent, amazing graphics and action that have you pinned to your seat, and the concept is very original. My favourite parts are Arthur’s (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) zero-gravity fist fight, and Ariadne’s (Ellen Page) construction of her first dream world. As one of the characters said: “It’s just... pure creation.”

But the storyline lets it down. From the middle of the film, it seems as though the plot was thought up in two minutes, purely to support the original idea. It also feels crammed. For those of you who are easily confused, this may not be your thing.

Di Caprio is stunning in this film, he plays his part with just the right amount of emotion for his character, portraying the loss, confusion and pain very well. This film is definitely recommendable – original, thrilling and action-packed. But I warn you not to get too involved in the plot. Sit back and enjoy the action, it’s the best way to watch this film.
