Members of a voluntary residents’ group are getting together with officials to chat about issues affecting their community.
The first informal meeting between Swindon’s Back Garden – covering part of Old Town – and representatives of the police, Swindon Council and ward councillors is on Monday, January 17, in the bottom bar of the Beehive pub in Prospect Hill, Old Town, from 6.30pm to 9pm.
Swindon’s Back Garden was set up under Swindon Council’s Connecting People – Connecting Places initiative to provide information about the area to its residents.
Streets covered by the Back Garden include Cross Street, Dover Street, Edmund Street, Prospect Hill, Prospect Place, Rolleston Street, South Street, Stanley Street, Swindon Road, North Street, Union Street, Warwick Road and Western Street.
Organisers say that if the evening is a success they will arrange meetings in other pubs. For details visit www.swindonbackgarden.
