A MAN has pleaded not guilty to sexually touching a five-year-old girl in a town centre shop.
Stephen Reynolds, 53, denied indecently touching the girl while she was shopping with her mother and a sibling in the 99p Stores, in Havelock Street, on December 31.
However, he pleaded guilty to a charge, arising from the same alleged incident, of breaching a sexual offences prevention order imposed by Swindon Crown Court in March 2007.
Reynolds, of Reading Street, Swindon, wore a black sweater and trousers and spoke only to confirm his identity and enter his pleas.
The prosecutor was Keith Ballinger and the defence lawyer was Tony Nowogrodzki.
Reynolds was remanded in custody to appear at Swindon Magistrates’ Court via videolink on January 20 and then to re-appear at the court on February 24 for committal to crown court.
