CONSERVATIVE councillor Peter Stoddart has retained his Abbey Meads seat.
He won with a majority of more than 1,000 votes.
"I'm really pleased," he said after the announcement was made.
"Everyone worked especially hard and I didn't think we would win by as much as we have.
"I got 63 per cent of the vote so even under AV I would have kept my seat."
