After the joys of winning three games in a row and looking more composed in front of goal the visit to Burton Albion showed us the challenge we have in front of us this season.

Despite dominating the first half the form of the last few weeks eluded us and with Burton also on a good run of results they took full advantage.

Connell and Kerrouche have both shown and commented that there striking partnership is currently working well, I hope Paolo persists with them both but I’ve got a feeling either De Vita, Storey or Magera might be partnering Kerrouche this Saturday.

Unfortunately Burton Albion’s second goal was a gift from our new goalkeeper Mattia Lanzano whose lack of concentration seemed to kill the game as a contest.

I understand fans’ calling for Phil Smith to return this Saturday and Smith is a good shot stopper but Lanzano has shown some potential in goal before Saturday and to drain all his confidence and drop him would be I think a bad move from Don Paolo.

The biggest disappointment from Saturday’s game was the fact we had 44 minutes to at least show we could get back into the game but apart from one Matt Richie cross we couldn’t create anything.

Paolo didn’t help himself by having no attacking midfielders on the bench whose pace could have changed the game.

So far it seems like we either play really well or don’t show up, there’s no middle ground, and our ability to play average and still get a result will come over time but in League Two its essential we learn to win ugly sooner rather than later.

This Saturday we take on Lawrie Sanchez’s struggling Barnet side at the County Ground.

Barnet do offer some attacking danger to our back four having Izale McLeod’s up front and former Town winger Mark Marshall in good form but hopefully Aden Flint will make his return this Saturday to help out the slim in numbers defense.

We also welcome back former striker Giuliano Grazioli to the County Ground who played for us between 99 and 02 and is now assistant manager at Underhill.

With Barnet only winning one league game in the last eight it’s a huge chance to get back to winning ways after last weekends defeat, which I think, we will comfortably.

When the ticket prices were announced during the summer the club said they would have certain games at a lower price and this Saturday is the first of these games.

Make sure you book your tickets in advance to get the discount, for more details, or to purchase tickets, call the STFC Box Office on 0871 876 1993. (You won’t regret it!) If you’re on the world of Twitter don’t forget you can add me @danjohnson6.
