DESPITE lengthy discussions between the GMB and Carillion today, strikes will go ahead at the Great Western Hospital this week.
A total of 109 workers, mainly housekeeping staff, employed by Carillion at the GWH, are striking tomorrow and Thursday over allegations of bullying and discrimination in the application of pay and conditions on the contract.
A one-day strike took place last week and two protests have since been held outside Nationwide HQ and Zurich Insurance HQ in the town after reports that staff from the two buildings are being used as strike breakers.
