SWINDON Town officials are hoping tomorrow's Party On The Pitch will be the first of many more concerts at the County Ground.

The last major act to play the 15,000-capacity stadium was Bryan Adams in 2007.

This weekend will see the Lightning Seeds, famous for the football anthem Three Lions, take to a stage in front of the Stratton Bank.

Town boss Paolo Di Canio will taking the mic with Toploader to sing their most famous hit, Dancing In The Moonlight, at the celebration and 5,000 people are expected.

The event, also featuring singer/songwriter Franc Cinelli, will see fans get a chance to pose with the League Two trophy and enjoy a quiz with the players, see a video of the goal of the season and watch the presentation of end of season awards.

Refreshments will be available throughout the day and a special event programme, priced at £5, will be available.

Mark Isaacs, the operations manager for the club, said: “This is sort of a test event and we might look at doing more things like this.

“The last one we had was Bryan Adams and it is something we wanted to start again. We will have to see how Sunday goes.

“We really want everyone in Swindon to feel they can come out and celebrate with us. It will be a real family event.”

Intel will be the club’s social media partner for the one-off party to give fans from all across the country a chance to congratulate Town on Twitter.

The firm, based in Pipers Way, is running a competition on its Twitter account – @IntelUK – asking people to share their messages of congratulations using #intelstfc and the good wishes will then be displayed throughout the day on the big screen at the ground.

Two lucky winners will each receive a pair of tickets to join the celebrations.
