ONE of the talents behind the eyewateringly sweary London Underground song is heading for Swindon.

Dr Adam Kay found viral video fame in the mid-2000s as a member of musical duo Amateur Transplants, alongside fellow medic Suman Biswas. Their song about striking Tube drivers, which borrowed the tune from the Jam’s Going Underground, has been heard around the world.

They released several albums and a DVD, as well as playing sold-out gigs up and down the country.

These days Adam’s a solo act, and Adam Kay’s Smutty Songs comes to the Wyvern Theatre tomorrow from 8pm.

Adam said: “My ex-partner in crime in Amateur Transplants wanted to focus on medicine full-time for some reason, so I’m carrying the reins on my own now.

“It’s just as well – a restraining order meant that he can’t be within 35 miles of Swindon, so it’s the first time I’ve been able to play at the Wyvern.”

And what can the audience expect? “Hopefully a fantastic evening of smutty songs – covering topics from battery sizes to the Heimlich Manoeuvre to bidets to Pringles to losing an eye to kissing French presidents.”

As one might expect, Smutty Songs is strictly for adults only. Tickets are £16 from 01793 524481 or www.wyverntheatre.org.uk – BARRIE HUDSON
