THOUSANDS of people across the county will be lining the streets in less than a fortnight as the Olympic Torch passes through Wiltshire.

The flame will be making its way through towns and villages, including Trowbridge and Bradford on Avon on May 22, and Swindon, Royal Wootton Bassett, Wroughton, Chippenham and Marlborough on May 23.

Residents, schools and businesses are being encouraged to line the route to mark the occasion when nominated people carry the flame as it makes its way to London at the start of the 2012 Games.

The relay will start at Land’s End on May 19 and will make its first visit to the county on May 22 when it reaches Trowbridge and then travels to Bradford on Avon.

Celebrations will continue the following day when it heads through Chippenham, Calne, Marlborough, Chiseldon and Wroughton. This will be followed by a visit to Royal Wootton Bassett and Swindon before it heads off Cirencester.
