The Swindon Harvester is launching a new ice cream sundae to boost the coffers of a special children’s charity.

The Chocolate Star Sundae, which is a blend of milk chocolate covered nougat pieces with rich Devonshire toffee sauce and Belgian chocolate sauce, topped with milk chocolate stars and a crispy wafer, is now on the menu – and 25p from each sundae sold will be donated to Make-A-Wish Foundation UK.

Harvester restaurants nationwide have raised more than £200,000 for the foundation, which is the organisation’s chosen charity, over the past five years.

Richard Labrosse, manager of the restaurant in Latham Road, said: “Now summer is approaching, it is the perfect time to boost our menu with this taste bud-tickling sundae. We’re looking forward to serving up plenty of helpings of this new dessert.”

Make-A-Wish helps children and young people with life-threatening conditions by granting their magical wish. It was founded in the UK in June 1986 and, since then, has granted more than 7,600 wishes.
