THE Senior Citizens Tuesday Club is jubilant after winning an extra special boost from The Co-operative Food for their forthcoming Queen’s Diamond Jubilee party celebrations.
Jean Ives, from the group, won a Jubilee party pack from The Co-operative Food, filled with party essentials for 50 people and £100 worth of Co-op vouchers to spend on food, after impressing judges with her community spirit and plans for the party.
The group works to overcome isolation among older people by organising social welfare and recreational activities. Many of the members are already talking about the Jubilee and recounting stories of the coronation, and the party will create new memories for the group. “We are all absolutely over the moon to receive a Jubilee party pack prize from The Co-operative,” said Jean. Helen Nunn, head of marketing for The Co-operative Food, said: “We were really impressed with Jean’s competition entry and, as a retailer at the heart of people’s communities, we thought their neighbourhood deserved something extra- special to help celebrate this right royal occasion.”
